Purple Cupcake Day @ APS

The Glen

The Glen is where the Boulder Bank begins.Imogen from the Museum came to talk about the Boulder Bank. She also told us about Mackeys Bluff. Mackeys Bluff is on a Fault line. There are wild goats on the cliff face. A couple of the goats made some stones and small rocks fall down the cliff. We think there might be wild rabbits up there too. There is a lot of gorse. Vincent's Letter to Mr Mayor

St Vincent Room

Auckland Point School

111 Haven Road

Nelson

Dear Mr Mayor,

Louis and Eden and Luke wrote to you about renaming of the track on Victoria Heights. We wrote last year.

Someone wants to call it The Will Watch Way Extension and we wrote to ask could you please think about The Goat Track, because that’s what all the people and kids up on the hill call it.

Before Christmas Louis and I came to the special meeting room to talk to Mr Richard Johnson about The Goat Track.

So we have a new name for to call it......Ara te Koati.

Mr Richard Johnson said you like Maori words.

Mr Mayor I’ve walked down the track for a very long time.

Can we come to the meeting to tell the people why we want to call it the Goat Track.

The Triathlon was cancelled on Friday because of rain and today it was hot and sunny. The whole school lined up for the Triathlon. We have been practicing for 2 weeks. Lots of parents and supporters came along to cheer us on. We all took part in the run, cycling or scootering and swimming. Great results! Vincent 1st, Adam 2nd, Alex 3rd in Year 3.
