Rain Rain Rain!

It’s been raining and raining and raining. We couldn’t go out for the opening of the eco hut or go out for a game, cause it’s still raining. Yesterday we got to go home early and they closed our school early. Our mum came to get us early.
We saw the slip on Maori Road and Constable John came to make the traffic go slow and not drive into the mud. The mud was everywhere, all over the road and our carpark is flooded, with a lake. There is a slip behind Victory Room and our playground adventure has trees fallen down the bank. It is soaked and saturated too.

Yulia

Yulia came to our school

We had a special day...no reading or maths or writing stories all day.
First Yulia came to our school and told us about being a big singing pop star. She sang us a song and we asked her questions. We sang her a song, it was Hey hey sister. She is going to England to sing. Yulia came from Russia and she didn’t speak any English but she does now. Tinneka

Christmas Cooking

On Wednesday we all went to the hall to do christmas cooking. Lots of mums and Nana Jill came to help us. Belqui came too. We were in groups with Georgina, Steff, Rebecca, Nana Jill and Judi to do our cooking. We made gingerbread shapes and cooked them, then we decorated them. I did stripes and squiggles and silver balls.
We cut out lots of stars and put icing and silver balls on them. One group made fruit kebabs with pineapple, strawberries and marshmallows. They were yummy. After we did the cooking we worked with Rebecca to make christmas decorations for the Christmas tree in the hall. It looked good and colourful too.
We ate all the food.

Tapawera

Tapawera

Two weeks ago mum, Judi ,Tyler and I went to Tapawera .
My house is brown I have a sheep, some horses , a pig called Burnese, a donkey, chickens and I’m also going to get a goat.
I am going to be leaving Auckland Point School to go to Tapawera Area School. I will go to a new school. I have already met my principal, at my school that I will be going to. Ms Shearer is my teacher, but I didn’t meet her.
I think that I will have a really great time at Tapawera. Matt (typed by Lucy)

Visit to Te Papa in Wellington

The most interesting thing about visiting Te Papa is the giant squid. It didn't have it skin on, so you can see it's meat. There's a video you can watch which tells you how big it was, how strong it was and where it was caught.

The squid is in a glass box.

I went in the earthquake house, it was freaky!! I walked on the giant floor mat of New Zealand . I started on Auckland and I ended up on Stewart Island. It was cool. I went all around New Zealand on the floor mat.

I saw a brand new silver car. People were admiring it. I didn't see the price.

I went into another room and I saw a whale's heart, it was a fake one but you could go inside it.

In the Dinosaur Hall, there are two dinosaurs stuck in concrete, I never seen a dinosaur before only in books.

It was exciting going to Te Papa.

APS & HIra School Tabloid Day

Manaia and the story he wrote about Tabloid Sports Day.
Victoria crosses the plank on the obstacle course....pretty tricky!
Rueben and team 4 pull on their end of the rope in the tug of war. They pulled harder!!
Paige and team 11 wait for instructions to start the hoop relay.
Team 3 and Matt listening to Lynnet, who was a parent helper.
Noah competes in the obstacle course.
Our class had a sneaky practice at this activity so we were really good at it.
